Referral Program Terms & Conditions
Last updated: April 2026
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your participation in the TravelMoney Referral Program ("Program"). By participating, you agree to be bound by these Terms, our general Terms of Service, and our Privacy Policy.
1. Definitions
"Referrer": A current TravelMoney member in good standing who shares their unique referral link or code with prospective members.
"Referee": A new user who signs up for a paid TravelMoney annual membership ($495/year) using a valid referral link or code.
"Qualified Referral": A Referee who completes the full membership signup process and pays for an annual membership. Free trials, cancelled memberships, and fraudulent signups do not qualify.
"TravelMoney Credit": Non-cash credit applied to a member's account, redeemable toward future TravelMoney purchases. Credits are not transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
"Membership Tier": One of four status levels (Insider, Jetsetter, Globetrotter, First Class) determined by referral activity and/or purchase history.
2. Eligibility
To participate in the Program as a Referrer, you must:
- Hold an active, paid TravelMoney annual membership in good standing.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Reside in a country where TravelMoney operates.
- Not be a TravelMoney employee, contractor, or affiliate partner.
TravelMoney reserves the right to determine eligibility at its sole discretion and to disqualify any participant who violates these Terms.
3. How the Program Works
3.1 Referral Mechanics
Each Referrer receives a unique referral link and/or code. When a Referee uses that link or code to sign up for a paid annual TravelMoney membership, the referral is tracked and, upon qualification, both parties receive their respective rewards.
3.2 Referrer Rewards (The Core Deal)
For every Qualified Referral, the Referrer receives:
- $100 in TravelMoney Credit, applied instantly to the Referrer's account upon the Referee's membership payment clearing.
3.3 Referee Rewards
Each Referee who signs up using a valid referral link or code receives:
- 10% off their first annual membership ($446 instead of $495).
- $50 in TravelMoney Credit toward their first purchase, applied upon membership activation.
4. Referral Milestones and Membership Tiers
As Referrers accumulate Qualified Referrals, they progress through membership tiers. Each tier unlocks additional rewards. The tiers and their thresholds are as follows:
| Tier | Referrals Required | Milestone Rewards |
|---|---|---|
| Insider | 0 (base tier) | Where every member starts. Earn $100 per referral. |
| Jetsetter | 3 | $100 bonus credit + 50% off next membership renewal |
| Globetrotter | 10 | $300 bonus credit + free membership renewal (1 year) |
| First Class | 20 | $500 bonus credit + free 1-year membership for you and a friend + 1% back in credits on all your Referee purchases |
Milestone rewards are cumulative. Reaching a higher tier does not forfeit rewards earned at prior tiers. All bonus credits are issued within 14 business days of reaching the applicable milestone.
4.1 First Class Cashback
Members who reach First Class tier earn 1% back in credits on all purchases made by their Referees through TravelMoney. This cashback is calculated on the net purchase amount (excluding taxes, shipping, and returns) and credited monthly to the Referrer's TravelMoney account. TravelMoney reserves the right to cap the annual cashback amount at its discretion, with 30 days' prior written notice to affected members.
5. Anonymous Purchase Data Sharing (Opt-In)
5.1 Overview
TravelMoney offers Referees the option to share anonymized purchase amount data with the Referrer who introduced them to TravelMoney. This feature is entirely optional, requires affirmative opt-in, and can be revoked at any time.
5.2 What Is Shared
If a Referee opts in, the following information may be made visible to their Referrer:
- Individual order amounts (e.g., $1,350.00).
- Cumulative purchase total to date.
5.3 What Is Never Shared
Under no circumstances will the following information be disclosed to the Referrer:
- The Referee's name, email address, or any personally identifiable information.
- Specific products, brands, or categories purchased.
- Shipping addresses or payment details.
- Order dates or timestamps beyond the calendar month.
Purchase data is displayed to the Referrer using an anonymized identifier (e.g., "Referral #4") and cannot be linked back to the Referee's identity by the Referrer.
5.4 How to Opt In
Referees may opt in to anonymous purchase data sharing through their TravelMoney account settings at any time after membership activation. Opt-in requires an affirmative action (checking a box or toggling a setting). No data is shared by default.
5.5 How to Opt Out
Referees may revoke their opt-in at any time through the same account settings. Upon opting out:
- All future purchase data will immediately stop being shared with the Referrer.
- Previously shared data (historical order amounts visible to the Referrer) will be retained in the Referrer's dashboard but will no longer update.
If the Referee wishes to have previously shared data removed from the Referrer's view, they may submit a request to support@travelmoney.app. TravelMoney will process such requests within 30 days.
5.6 Purpose and Use Restrictions
The purpose of this data sharing is to allow Referrers to track their referral activity and stay informed about the purchasing engagement of the members they referred. Referrers agree that they will not:
- Attempt to identify Referees using shared purchase data.
- Use shared data for any commercial, marketing, or solicitation purpose outside the TravelMoney platform.
- Disclose or publish shared data to any third party.
Violation of these restrictions may result in immediate termination from the Program and suspension of the Referrer's TravelMoney membership.
6. Credit Terms
- TravelMoney Credits expire 12 months from the date of issuance unless otherwise stated.
- Credits are non-transferable between accounts and cannot be redeemed for cash.
- Credits can be applied toward any TravelMoney purchase, including membership renewals where applicable.
- If an order paid with credits is returned, the credit is restored to the member's account (not refunded as cash).
- TravelMoney reserves the right to adjust or void credits issued in error or obtained through fraud.
7. Prohibited Conduct
The following activities are strictly prohibited and may result in disqualification, forfeiture of rewards, and/or termination of membership:
- Self-referral (referring yourself using a different email address, payment method, or identity).
- Creating fake, fraudulent, or duplicate accounts to generate referrals.
- Posting referral links as paid advertisements without prior written approval from TravelMoney.
- Spamming, unsolicited messaging, or any form of bulk distribution of referral links that violates applicable anti-spam laws.
- Misrepresenting TravelMoney's services, pricing, or referral rewards to prospective members.
- Colluding with Referees to manipulate spend thresholds or milestone qualifications (e.g., placing and returning orders to trigger bonuses).
- Attempting to reverse-engineer, exploit, or circumvent the referral tracking system.
8. Program Modifications and Termination
TravelMoney reserves the right to modify, suspend, or terminate the Referral Program at any time, with or without notice. Changes to reward amounts, tier thresholds, or program mechanics will apply prospectively and will not affect rewards already earned and credited to a member's account.
In the event of program termination, all pending Qualified Referrals processed before the termination date will be honored. Unredeemed credits will remain valid for 12 months from their original issuance date.
8.1 Discretionary Termination of Membership and Referral Benefits
TravelMoney reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to terminate, suspend, or revoke any member's membership, referral tier status, referral rewards (including accrued credits, milestone bonuses, and cashback), and access to any and all TravelMoney products and services, at any time and without prior notice, if TravelMoney deems such action necessary following an internal inquiry. This right applies regardless of whether the member has violated any specific provision of these Terms.
Grounds for discretionary action may include, but are not limited to: suspected fraud, abuse of the Program, activity that poses reputational risk to TravelMoney, patterns of behavior inconsistent with the intended purpose of the Program, or any other reason TravelMoney determines to be in the best interest of the company and its members.
In the event of such termination or revocation, TravelMoney is under no obligation to provide a detailed explanation of the internal inquiry or its findings. Any decision made under this section is final and not subject to appeal through the dispute resolution process outlined in Section 10.
9. Limitation of Liability
TravelMoney's total liability under the Program is limited to the face value of credits or discounts owed to the participant. TravelMoney is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from participation in the Program, including but not limited to lost profits, lost referrals due to technical errors, or disputes between Referrers and Referees.
10. Dispute Resolution
Any disputes related to the Program will be resolved through TravelMoney's standard customer support process. If a dispute cannot be resolved informally, it will be subject to binding arbitration in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association, conducted in the state of Delaware.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles.
